Guidelines for Taking Control of Your Body
A personal journey by David Stola
Two and one half years ago, I experienced too many health problems and became very much overweight. I was concerned that I avoided the imperative to take charge of my body versus having doctors in charge. This is not to suggest that I eliminated doctors' advice and care from my life, but rather took the position that I wanted to play a major role in caring for my body. I solicited the services of a nutritionist because at age 63 my pantry contained foods that a teenager would eat. I learned from the nutritionist would food combinations to eat on a schedule of five meals a day. Thus, I was eating better and had more energy. I joined the All Fitness Center and began an exercise program consisting of all body and cardio workouts. Wonderful trainers along the way gave me guidance. The most exciting results of my new life style was when my doctor discontinued several prescriptive drugs for the following conditions: high triglycerides, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and arthritic left knee. I have received blood work readings of nothing less than normal during the last two years. I am now 65 years of age and only take two aleve tablets and a multi-vitamin each day. I have lost 45 pounds and feel terrific. I continue to ensure a reasonable workout program during each week while eating more nutritional foods. I do not diet, instead I select the proper foods and portions to eat. I have become very consistent with selecting food and exercise choices that help enjoy a new life style. I will be 65 years of age in August 2011. I wish all readers of my journey continued success and happiness.
Thanks,
